my dell inspiron 1100 wont turn on !!! help?

got it for my bday, is a little used and was left in a closet for a few months, but still new. when i plug in the ac adapter a green light comes up with does not turn on. what can i do?
well i tried removing and puttin back the battery. i tried the power button.. (hard) umm its like a yellowish greenish light. and wont turn on at all when i press the power button. not even the fan or screen... it does nothing =(
well if its still in warranty., but i didnt buy it (it was a gift., no box or nothing just the laptop and cd's and ac adapter was all i got) can dell still replace it if is a defective product?


The green light is on means the power supply is fine, did you press the power button?
