I bought a $15 AC adapter from Laptops International and it crapped out on my within 2 weeks, it was also loose (I couldn't shake it or it would turn off [I don't have a battery for it]). Any help?
I would recommend that you buy the ac adapter from Topmic.com because they offer Life Time Warranty and free shipping to all laptop ac adapter for $58. This is much cheaper than buying from Dell, and you get the quality much better than from other reseller merchants.

As for the battery, I don't know that much about good battery places, but these two sites seem pretty good.

Very good condition, found it in the trash, on top of a wooden dresser with the AC adapter, rescued from the death, the problem with this one was ...
My computer is only 15 months old. The battery will only charge if the power cord is twisted every which way (this is the third one that I had needed to get) and if you move it automatically says critical battery and if you don;t find the charge right away the computer shuts down. It does not charge very quickly, in fact sometimes it only stays at the percentage it is when you start charging on the screen. What should I do. Should I try and by another computer or what. If it is too expensive I might as well by another one. Thanks.
the connection is loose at the motherboard. call dell support and tell them that you have already replaced the ac adapter 3 times. and they will get the motherboard replaced if it is still under warranty. make sure that you tell them that you've replaced the adapter 3 times or they will just send you another adapter.

second! check if there is any dust build up in the power socket on the laptop
third! leave the laptop plugged in for a while with battery in and see what happens
do not worry! it will not blow up!

First: is there any charger other than the "90 Watt 2 Prong AC Adapter with 3-ft Power Cord for Dell Inspiron 1501/ 6400/ E1505 Laptops / Precision Mobile WorkStation M60/ M70" that will charge a dell inspiron e1505? I need a new charger, and all the customers hate the charger I mentioned because it is poor quality and they are replacing it 2-4 times a year when it costs $70. I don't want to spend upwards of $200 on laptop chargers a year!
Second: Has anyone ever had an overheating problem for any of their laptop chargers, particularly with a dell inspiron e1505? For the last couple of weeks, I can plug mine in for 15 minutes and the charger will be almost too hot to touch.
first- u can get a laptop charger on ebay for about 30 bucks. as far as getting a different charger, i think that is pretty much the standard that dell offers.
second- i know my laptop charger gets pretty warm, but i dont think i have ever had it get too hot to touch.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1000 and I have had it for over a year now. It started having problems charging even when I made sure the adapter was plugged into the back of the computer and the outlet securely. I purchased a new AC adapter and it seems that the problem is even worse now. My battery is only good for about 15 minutes. Something else it has been doing - When I turn it on I have a screen that pops up and says to run the battery recalibration. I have done this a couple of times, but it still comes up everytime. Is there a problem with my battery or is the ac adapter plug-in? Or could it be something else. Thanks!
It's almost certainly the battery. Each time you recharge a laptop battery it loses a bit of capacity. Eventually it will need to be replaced. A year sounds a bit short but not impossible.
