Latitude C840 AC Adapter

I need an AC adapter for a Dell Latitude C840. Would a store like Best Buy or Fry's carry one? Or is it better to buy one on eBay? One more question: do you have to have a paypal to buy on eBay?

Most likely, Best Buy or Fry's would not carry a model that's this old. You can buy one on ebay, but you have to be extremely careful because some of the quality is really bad (since they are so cheap).

I would personally recommend buying from Topmic.com because they offer lifetime warranty and free shipping too all the laptop chargers for a relatively good price. They have nice quality laptop chargers and they do have this model.

I need an AC Adapter to go with a Dell Latitude C840 and Dell Inspiron I3700...

I need to find a store located in Duluth, Georgia that supplies this product for a price around $50 or less, but no more than $70!

Model: AA20031, PA-6 family, P/N 9364U, Made by ASTEC (see the last line on the big sticker) - this is the reliable version of this power supply, other models tend to overheat or explode. I have this model and i know Dell addressed all users for an exchange due to the above mentioned issues (my model was not concerned of that exchange action).

I have a Dell Latitude C840 and my sister put in a AC cord and it fried my computer and it doesn't turn on. There was smoke coming out of it and we pulled out the plug. There's also a really burnt smell to it. I want to know if there's any hope it can be fixed. If not, would i be able to take the motherboard or the memory or whatever and put it into another laptop or even a desktop so i can access the files or something?

It might just be the power supply, or it could all be fried. Take it to a good repair shop or call Dell. Tell them you need the hard drive restored if possible.

Sounds like you didn't keep any backups? Bet you will in the future!
